• Smart Seasoning Recipes

    Smart Seasoning is as simple as salt: cook with it, or finish with it. But we love using it as the star ingredient too, and here are our favorite recipes, as enjoyed at home by our own team!

    Smart Seasoning Yellow Blend

    Vegan Pesto

    • 2 cups chopped arugula leafs
    • 2 cups chopped spinach
    • 1 cup basil leafs
    • 1-2 cloves peeled garlic
    • 3 tbsp Smart Seasoning
    • ¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
    • ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil

    Blend until smooth.

     

    Makes approximately 4 servings.

    Smart Seasoning Yellow Blend

    Vegan Tahini Shakes

    • 300 ml of plant based milk
    • ½ cup of frozen strawberries OR blueberries
    • 3 tbsp tahini
    • 1 tsp of Smart Seasoning
    • 1 tsp of honey (or to taste)


    Blend until smooth.

     

    Makes 1 extra large cup, or two smaller servings.

    Smart Seasoning Yellow Blend

    Vegan Caesar Dressing

    • ½ cup Tahini⁠
    • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice⁠
    • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar⁠
    • 1 tsp dijon mustard⁠
    • 1 clove garlic⁠
    • 3 tbsp Smart Seasoning⁠
    • ⅓ cup cold water⁠

    Blend all of the above.

    Smart Seasoning Yellow Blend

    Hollandaise Sauce

    • 1 stick of butter
    • 3 egg yolks
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • ½ to ¾ teaspoon of Smart Seasoning*

    To a blender, add egg yolks, Smart Seasoning, and lemon juice. Start the blender and while it's running, add the melted butter.

    *If you're using unsalted butter, use ¾ tsp of Smart Seasoning. If you're using salted butter, use ½ tsp of Smart Seasoning.

    Smart Seasoning Black Blend

    Vegan & GF Mushroom Gravy

    • 1 onion, diced
    • 3-4 cloves garlic, smashed
    • 3 tbsp raw brown rice
    • 200g of fresh (cremini) mushrooms
    • Fresh herbs, such as thyme, sage, rosemary
    • 1 tbsp Smart Seasoning Black Blend
    • ¼ cup red wine
    • 2 cups mushroom or vegetable broth
    Sauté first five ingredients until mushrooms are brown, and onions are soft. Add Smart Seasoning, red wine, and broth. Simmer for 10 minutes. Blend. Makes 4 servings.
     
    OPTIONAL: Add ¼ (plant-based) milk to the pan and heat through. Add blended gravy back to the pan and stir in 1 tbsp (plant-based) butter for extra richness and glossiness.
